A lovely picture of children gathered round the village pump circa 1910. For two hundred years the major source of water at Lower Heysham had been the village pump. It was at the junction of Bailey Lane, Knowlys Road and St Mary's Road. It was hit by a motor vehicle in 1930 and destroyed.
